Indian Mound Campground is adjacent to the Herman Mounds and Village Site, a national historic registered site. Access to the mounds is restricted. Artifacts over 2000 years old can be found in the area.
The Indian Mound Campground is located 5m from MSU/Starkville, 15 minutes from the Noxubee Wildlife refuge, 20 minutes from the Tenn-Tom waterway and Columbus and there are 9 golf courses within 30 minutes. You can catch and release fish here at the campground pond or at one of 6 lakes over 500 acres within 15 minutes of the campground, Tibbee creet/bottom and the award winning Tombigbee River is 20 minutes away. Jon boats are available for rent at the campground.
